Day two of practice is now in the books. Practice began at 9 A.M. sharp with a slight delay due to the mist from the coastal aqua marine layer. The rain caused about an hour delay with cold temps. Overcast skies made for a cooler tempature than the day before.
With track conditions changing due to the weather, the racers had to adapt fast. The drivers were getting more serious today, preparing their cars to begin racing on Saturday. Tire-warmers and traction compound were just some of the adjustments made by many racers. It seems as though the Losi-Alfa Romeo and the Protoform-Mazda 6 are the most popular bodies being used. Trinity Tire Tweek is seen in the majority of the pits.
The fastest racers of the moment are: Mark Pavidis(Team Associated), David Spashett(Team Losi), Masami(Team Yokomo), Brian Kinwald, Matt Francis and Jukka Steenari(Team Trinity/Losi) – just a few names with too many others to mention. The conditons haven’t effected the racers’ performance – everyone seems to be getting faster. This year’s competition is fierce – should be an exciting event to watch. All we can do at this point is see who rises to the top!
