Mike Reedy Retires

After 20-plus years on the frontlines of World-Class RC competition, legendary motor builder Mike Reedy has announced that he will be stepping down from his position at Associated Electrics after the Reedy Race of Champions this weekend.

Mike is retiring at the top of his game, having supplied the power to an unprecedented 25 IFMAR World Champions, including the current onroad Touring Car World Champion and the current offroad 2WD World Champion, as well as most of the current ROAR Electric National Champions. This is a record that many expect will never be equaled.

Mike will still be working with Team Associated on a retained consultant basis, and will travel to selected events as a representative of Team Associated throughout the racing season. He leaves the day-to-day business of managing the Reedy motor and battery division in the capable hands of Sean Cochran, whom he has worked with side by side for the past few years. The Racing Team management duties are now being handled by Brent Thielke, a well-known Arizona racer who recently relocated to Southern California.

Mike is looking forward to his more relaxed schedule which will allow him more time to spend with his family, other hobbies, and to travel. In fact, he??s working on his tan right now to get ready for an upcoming trip to Singapore in two weeks.

Mike, after more than 20 years of dedicated service to the sport, and all the top racers you helped get their start, you have forever left your mark as a positive influence on the world of Radio Control Car Racing ?K and we sincerely thank you for it.

Enjoy your retirement, Mike. You??ve earned it.
