Congratulations to Team Orion factory driver Marc Rheinard for setting the fastest qualifying time and wining the Team Orion Speed Weekend in Kastellaun, Germany. Marc¡¦s father and race organizer Uwe Rheinard is responsible for the race¡¦s dramatic increase in popularity – now one of the most prestigious European races attracting some of the best drivers in the world.
The race format consisted of 4 qualifying rounds, with triple A-mains. The main event starting order would be determined by a driver¡¦s single fastest qualifying time. Because the track continued to gain traction and produce faster lap times, the fourth and final round was sure to be the ¡§rocket round¡¨. Marc took advantage of the fast track conditions to post a top-qualifying run of 23 laps – the only driver to do so!
Rheinard, confident in his Team Orion horsepower combination, never looked back while speeding to victory in the first two legs of the final to seal the Championship. A World Championship winning Oscar Jansen Edition 7×1 Edition Revolution modified and Team Orion¡¦s V-Max Pus RDS IB4200 WC matched cells powered Marc¡¦s Tamiya 415MSX MR Edition across the finish line.
