It was a fantastic 1-2 for team Hot Bodies at the Carpet Wars 2 Day World Cup meeting with Andy Moore and Olly Jefferies taking the top two places in the modified class.
Organised by Maritime Racing this meeting is now the biggest winter race in the UK with 120 drivers making the trip to Kent. Andy Moore led from the front dominating qualifying with his Orion powered Cyclone, lining up third on the grid for the A final was Andy’s team mate Olly Jefferies, also making the A after a consistent run in qualifying was Elliot Harper who qualified seventh and added this meeting to a good run of winter performances.
From the buzzer Andy led the field away and won the first of three A finals convincingly, Olly got the jump on second place man Chris Grainger to make it a 1-2 in the first final. The second final was another win for Andy but a disaster for Olly who got hit in the first corner and dropped to last, Olly fought back but could only manage sixth, at this point Elliot was extremely quick and was running confidently with some of the big name mid field drivers.
With two wins Andy was crowned champ so the team focus fell on Olly who knew he needed a good last final to get a top three place. The last final was one of the best of the day with places being swapped on every lap; Olly made a poor start but by the finish buzzer was up to second behind Andy securing the overall 1-2 for Hot Bodies / Orion.
In the 19 turn supper stock class Andrew Carter took pole position in the B final with his Cyclone, Andrew won the first final but struggled in the other two, never the less Andrew finished second in the B completing a good day for Hot Bodies / Orion.
