Cristiani wins Euro B ‘Warm Up’ race

Current European 1:8 B Champion Andrea Cristiani has won the ‘Warm Up’ race for the 2007 EFRA European 1:8 IC Track B Championships.  Racing at Tolmin in Slovenia over the weekend, the Serpent driver took his 960 to victory ahead of local ace Jernej Vuga.

The pace of racing at the ‘Warm Up’ event was ultra competitive with Cristiani, Vuga and promising 16-year-old Italian Nicola Maroni pushing one other throughout proceedings.  Maroni, also driving a 960, qualified P2 and just missed out on a podium finish when he hit trouble while running third costing him 2 minutes and dropping him to 4th.

As the current European 1:8 B Champion, Cristiani is not eligible to race in the Bonisio sponsored 2007 EC-B on May 25-27.  Having won the Euro B title for the last three years Serpent will be on hand to support drivers during the event as they go for their fourth straight win in Slovenia.
