1st Serpent Korea Cup at Suwon Circuit

On April 8th the Suwon circuit played host to the first of five Serpent Korea Cup races which are being support by full size car manufacturer Hyundai Motors.

Attracting 60 racers and organised by Serpent’s Korean distributor the race was open to racers of all makes of 1:10 and 1:8 cars who were each given  three 5-minute heats and a 30 minute final.

Special guests at the event were the famous Sahashi brothers from Japan along with new Serpent Driver Development signing Nam SangJun.

In 1:10 Yuya Sahashi broke the track record to TQ for the event with his Serpent 720.  In the final both Sahashi brothers suffered engine problems allowing promising young Korean racer Nam SangJun to take the win with his 720 from Kyosho driver Choi Seungwon.

In 1:8 Sang Jun again starred securing the TQ position with his 960 and in the race the youngster did a superb job to finish second behind Serpent team driver Yuya Sahashi to give Serpent a great 1-2 result.  The 960 also broke the 1:8 track lap record thanks to Tadahiko Sahashi.
