LRP TCM 2007 - LRP SPHERE Competition TC-Spec Rules!
World class trusts in LRP SPHERE Competition TC-Spec! In this year’s A-Final 8 out of 10 drivers used the exceptional top class Brushless+Brushed Speedo!
This year’s LRP TCM could celebrate a jubilee! Already for the 10th time the R/C top guns from all over the world ran their laps on the LRP carpet in Eppelheim. Nowadays the LRP-TCM is regarded as the most competitive Touring Car race worldwide apart from the IFMAR World-Championships.
This outstanding event already started in 1985 as the “Nikolaus Cup” (1/10 Offroad). In the late 90ies the race turned into one of the biggest and most important races ever. This year 270 drivers including international top stars from Europe, the USA and Japan made this the unofficial Worlds in 2007!
Almost all world-wide R/C Car manufacturers have sent their Factory Team drivers to attend the LRP TCM 2007 e.g.: Current World Champion Andy Moore/GB, DHI Cup and German Nats winner Ronald Völker/GER, former World Champion Marc Rheinard, Toni Rheinard/GER, Paul Lemieux/USA, Juho Levanen/FIN, Teemu Leino/FIN, Jilles Groskamp/NL, Craig Drescher/GB, Shinosuke Adachi/JAP, Sake and Simo Ahoniemi/FIN, Marc Fischer/GER, Alexander Hagberg/SWE, Hupo Hönigl/AUT, Martin Hudy/CZ and many, many more!
LRP Touring Car MASTERS!
The drivers of the Masters class used the training session on Friday to find the best setup and to adapt the track for the qualifying heats. There had been 4 qualifying heats, 3 on Saturday and one on Sunday morning with the best 2 to count. In the beginning the new race carpet was a bit fuzzing but changed towards the qualifying. The track was very challenging and after the first qualifying heats everybody knew, that this was going to be a very competitive race! The qualifying heats were very exciting and some drivers could already bury their winning ambitious! That’s why even current world champion Andy Moore only joined G-Finals.
The finals offered the spectators R/C racing on world class level. Even the B-Final, with former World Champion Marc Rheinard, could be taken for an EC A-Final! Due to some setup problems Marc could only achieve place 18. Same as with Teemu Leino, TCM winner 2006, who didn’t get beyond 17th place. This in fact demonstrates the high class level of the LRP TCM!
Juho Levanen (winner TCM 2003 and podium 3 times) showed up right from start! Due to his constant performance he took the pole on his LRP powered Associated TC-5 in a superior style.
LRP team driver Ronald Volker had an excellent first run. Unfortunately run 2 and 3 didn’t went according to plan and the ticket for the A-finals was not saved until end of run 4.
By rolling up the field from place 6 to 2, Ronald demonstrated in style that he is currently one of the best R/C drivers in the world! In the 2nd final Ronald was involved in an accident right at the start what made him drop down to the last place. Visibly unimpressed to this fact Ronald made up position to position, by the way driving the fastest lap (13.21 sec) of the weekend, and finally made 4th place! In the last final Ronald had to fight very hard. Due to his extreme fast and constant way of driving Ronald got 5th - overall 3rd!
Juho Levanen sovereign won the 1st and 2nd run but didn’t compete in the 3rd anymore.
