D’Hondt claims Benelux Championship Title

The Benelux Championships took place at the Roeselare track in Belgium over the weekend and it was Serpent driver Robin D’hondt who took the top honours in 1:8.

Open to drivers from Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg, the event attracted a quality entry despite the poor weather conditions.

In qualifying it was Belgian National Champion Steven Cuypers who TQ’d for the event ahead of Serpent team-mates John Ermen from the Netherlands and D’Hondt.

Unfortunately Cuypers and Ermen both hit problems in the final allowing D’Hondt to cruise home to a massive 12 lap winning margin with his Mega powered Serpent 960.

Serpent also enjoyed success in the 1:10 class with Dutch team driver Remy Moller and Nick Cuypers, brother of Steven, both finishing on the podium.
