Serpent completed an impressive double at the prestigious Trofeo Novarossi race at Fiorano over the weekend with former European B Champion Andrea Cristiani taking victory in 1:8 while Giorgio Smacchi enjoyed similar success in the 1:10 A Final.

Attracting a star line up of drivers including two current European Champions and Japanese star Masao Tanaka, 118 racers were greated by sunny conditions at the Jody Scheckter circuit.

In 1:8 there was an intense battle for pole but it was Cristiani driving his Max powered 960 that topped the time sheets and the young Italian star was to convert that pace into a superb victory in the 30 minute A final.  Also on the podium for Serpent was Giordano Agostinelli.

In the 1:10 Final, Smacchi started 6th but a strong drive in the 30 minute encounter saw him cross the line first 3 laps up on his closest rival.
