Olly Jefferies win KO Grand Prix

It was a fantastic weekend for Mirage modified drivers at the 12th running of the K O Grand Prix, the overall victory went to Olly Jefferies with Andy Moore second and Ben Cosgrove third.

Olly started his weekend in fine style taking FTD in round one of qualifying, a second behind was Andy Moore and it was a Orion / Hot Bodies lock out on the front row of the grid for the remainder of qualifying as the track temperatures went up and everyone struggled to improve their first round times on used tyres.

New rubber for the final round which was held in the cooler temperature of early Saturday evening, Olly was on for an improvement but them made a mistake, Andy was also on for a new FTD when he slipped up slightly, so the top two stayed static but it was Ben Cosgrove who made the most of round three making it up the third with his Nosram powered XRAY.

The first leg of the modified A finals and Olly decided to use his last set of new tyres, he put them to good use and controlled from the front taking the win from Andy and then Ben. Next up it was time for Ben to set the pace and he took the second leg of the final setting up and fantastic climax for third and final leg of the A final.

Ben made a quick start to leg three and it was close between Olly, Andy and Ben, but early on Ben clipped a kerb dropping him down the field, he fought hard to recover but it was a big ask, Andy got by Olly and the two of them raced to the finish, Olly knew second would be good enough but still made Andy work for the third leg win.

So a leg each for all the mirage drivers and the overall title going to Olly Jefferies. Elliott Harper continued his good form making the A in ninth, Mark Stiles was another Hot Bodies driver on good form he made the A in sixth place, in the third leg of the A final Mark enjoyed a great battle with Chris Grainger, Chris eventually getting the place on the very last lap.
