Team Orion Wins In Vegas

The 3rd Annual International Indoor Championships produced by world famous announcer Scotty Ernst, was held at the beautiful South Point Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV. Every year the IIC has brought the best on-road drivers from around the globe, this year was no exception.

Four rounds of qualifying would be ran with the drivers single fastest time counting, also known as “rocket round.” Then followed by an exciting single A-Main format. This fitting in perfect with the Vegas atmosphere of, “Anyone has a chance to win!”

1/12th Scale Modified saw Team Orion/Hot Bodies Factory Driver Andy Moore set an incredible TQ run that would end up being 6 seconds faster than the 2nd place qualifier. From the start of the tone, it was all Moore who controlled the pace with his Team Orion Vortex powered HB ride. At the end of the main, it was Moore who crossed the finish line first with the win! Team Orion Factory Driver Josh Cyrul put in a strong run finishing 3rd, also using the Team Orion Vortex BL Motor.

In the Foam Modified Touring Car class, Team Orion/X-RAY Factory Driver Teemu Leino was on point, qualifying second overall.

At the start of the main, Teemu was involved in rough first corner letting the TQ pull out a 2 second lead. He then used his Team Orion Vortex 3.5 brushless motor and 5 cell Team Orion batteries to catch up. Teemu then started to apply allot of pressure on the leader forcing him to make a mistake, then took the lead and never looked back winning by over a full straight.
