World famous race announcer/promoter Scotty Ernst hosted the Mid-West Off Road Championships at Trackside Hobbies in Milwaukee, WI. during the first weekend of December.

Team Orion Factory Drivers Ryan Cavalieri, Ronnie Gardner, Frank Root, and Joe Pillars made trip out from California to attend this event.

The track consisted of clay and was lightly misted regularly to assure for super high traction. The track layout was very tight with lap times even getting into the 12-second range. Team Losi Pink Taperpins were the tire of choice dremeled down into slicks.

The race format consisted of 3 rounds of qualifying on Saturday. Then 1 round of qualifying Sunday morning, followed by the main events. The racers 2 best points for the round would be used to determine the qualifying order.

Ryan Cavalieri started from the TQ position in the 4wd Modified class with his Team Orion powered B44. At the sound of the tone Cavalieri set an incredibly fast pace while making no mistakes. Never looking back, Ryan went on to win his first championship of the weekend! Congrats also go out to rising star Ronnie Gardner for making the podium finishing 3rd with his Team Orion powered Kyosho ZX-5.

In the Modified Truck class Cavalieri would start second on the grid after just losing the tie-breaker to Brian Kinwald for the overall TQ. After the first lap was completed Ryan and Brian had already pulled out on the field. Cavalieri kept applying pressure to Kinwald throughout the first half of the main. After a small mistake by Kinwald, Cavalieri got around him clean. Cavalieri then drove perfect pulling away with two laps to go taking home his second championship!

The premier class of the weekend was the 2wd Modified class. This would be the only class that would run the triple A-main format. Ryan Cavalieri would start on the pole position after dominating qualifying. Cavalieri went on to win the first two A-mains uncontested wrapping up his third championship of the weekend, making it a clean sweep!

The NEW Team Orion 4200SHO Batteries showed their Super High Output (SHO) and durability by all the Team Orion drivers using the same battery pack for all of qualifying and the main events.
