A great way to start 2008! Premiering this Wednesday on Motors TV across Europe episode 3 sees us begin our comprehensive and exclusive coverage of the Indoor International Championships from Las Vegas, We chat with the organiser and star “race caller†Scotty Ernst, talk foam tyres with Paul Lemiuex and have full coverage of the Touring car modified Foam A main with race commentary by John Hindhaugh. Adding to the international flavour of this months show we go large in Australia with a report from the 1/5th scale world championships held in Brisbane. We also look at the latest machines from HPI and Kyosho in our track tests. After an eventful 2007 with his HoBao Hyper 8.5 Graham Alsop finished the year in style with a 3rd round win at the CML Nitro Winter Championships at Frankley. A thrilling 20 minute A Final saw Graham hold off challenges from CML/HoBao teammates John Holmes and John Howells to clinch a well deserved victory. 2nd place fell to Simon Willetts and John Holmes has to settle for 3rd. On December 8/9th the beautiful “Le Turbie” circuit in the city of Monaco hosted the annual Xmas Cup, a classic race for 1:10 and 1:8 scale racing cars. There were a total of 100 participants at the event. Unfortunately, bad weather on Saturday allowed for only 20 minutes of testing for each class. Barbera with the XRAY NT1 claimed TQ after the two qualifying rounds and the critical wet conditions gave an open race for the main event. The final started in the late afternoon and the last part was raced under artificial lighting. Barbera was leading the number 2 car by 1 lap by the 15min mark. By then the track was completely dry, giving Barbera the chance to push… stretching the lead to 3 laps! The event was very well organized and the nice panoramic view of the sea by the famous F1 Monaco GP was incredible nice!
