The year 2008 is shaping up to be a banner year for Team XRAY, with the arrival of champion Ian Haley from Australia. Ian has a very impressive and extensive list of National and International championships to his credit in the hotly-contest Buggy & Truggy classes.

Ian said the following about the prospect of joining Team XRAY:

“Joining Team XRAY is a dream come true for me. Working with both Mario and Juraj and the team, using the highest-quality performance-driven products, will be a great pleasure! After testing both the XB8 and XT8, I found them exceptional straight from the box, and with all the options available they are true race winners. I would like to give a big “Thank you” to Team XRAY and Custom Model Cars.”

Team XRAY is extremely excited to welcome Ian aboard and we look forward to a bright future together with great race results. Best of luck, Ian!

Modified Report by Martin Hudy

The DHI Cup is the first big event this year for 1/10 electric touring car on carpet with rubber tires.. This race together with the LRP Masters is the biggest carpet race in Europe, and is attended by all of Europe’s best drivers including many top overseas racers. This year the race was held for the first time at the Odense Congress Center. The new location was much better since the hall was big enough to include a pit area and moreover there were lots of seats for spectators. The main advantage of this place was that the race could start on Friday morning with 4 rounds of practice which gave enough track time and practice before the race started

Team XRAY was not only participating in this event but was also a sponsor of the race. The team was represented by Teemu Leino, Alexander Hagberg, Steven Weiss, Dirk Wischnewski, Martin Lissau, Helge Johansen, and of course Juraj and Martin Hudy. It was pleasure for us to see that XRAY cars were the most popular car in both 19-Turn and Modified categories, making the new XRAY T2’008 the most frequently used touring car.

This year marked the 21st Annual CRCRC Winter Midwest Championships in Hilliard, OH. The Champs are known for being the first big electric race of the New Year, always being held in the beginning of January. Drivers from as far as New York and California made the trip to the Midwest for this great event. The track was very well prepared and maintained throughout the weekend. The layout was very technical with a big triple jump, stutter bumps, and allot of elevation changes. Super high traction allowed the racers to run slicks for the entire race. The race format was changed a little from years past. Instead of using the “Rocket Round” format with 3 qualifiers. The race would now run 4 rounds of qualifying with points used with the drivers 2 best points counting. The qualifiers would be 5 minutes long, with the mains at 7 minutes! Last year Team Orion Factory Driver Ryan Cavalieri swept all three modified classes and was back to defend his titles.

SPEED-T 1/10 Scale Brushless Electric Truck

Bring the heat up and down your street with Losi’s fastest electric RTR ever, the Speed-T. Based on a proven, durable chassis design and ultimately an agile suspension setup, the Speed-T has the foundation to handle serious acceleration unlike any other RC truck. Losi’s revolutionary brushless power system, featuring an Xcelorin programmable electronic speed control and potent brushless motor, propels the Speed-T to top speeds in excess of 65mph. Road Weapon low profile tires mounted on Losi SpokeZ 320 Series Chrome wheels and a lowered chassis hug the ground for high-speed handling, and an installed wheelie bar keeps the wheels down to put the power to the ground. The included Losi MTX Pro Radio System with Spektrum™ 2.4GHz DSM® Technology offers complete control without interference. The custom painted, low-profile aerodynamic body is designed with speed and downforce in mind for less aerodynamic drag and more traction.
