Best known as a leading driver in the British 1:8 Onroad Nitro Championships Tim Wood made his EP racing debut over the weekend with the S400 and the young Team Serpent UK team driver did so in style.
Racing in Round 3 of the British Indoor Winter Series at the Don Valley Stadium in Sheffield which attract a capacity 120 drivers Tim took part in both the 27 Turn Stock and the 19 Turn Superstock classes.
With top drivers from all over the country in attendance driving all the major touring car brands it was the Serpent S400 in the hands Wood that took the overall honours not in one but both of the classes contested.
In what was Tim’s first big electric meeting, the car was left with the standard kit setup for the duration of the event, and proved reliable, fast and easy to drive out of the box. Rapid motor changes for the different classes were required and easily made, thanks to the S400 being easy to work on.
Overall, the result is very promising for the S400 and its upcoming first season in the UK.
Tim’s entry into EP racing was made possible thanks to his sponsors Serpent UK, Radio Racers and Speedy Models.
