The organisers at the Wodson park club once again put on a great meeting with a fast and flowing track layout. Numbers were slightly down thanks to mothers day, but the turnout remained competitive with some of the country’s top drivers in attendance.

Qualifying proved to be close at the top, but Mirage drivers continued to dominate the winter season with young Elliot Harper taking the Modified TQ for Xray, and newly crowned Rug Racers champion Olly Jefferies in 2nd driving for Hot Bodies. Other Mirage drivers making it into the highly competitive A final were Brian Eldridge driving for Xray, Stew Noble with his Hot Bodies Cyclone, as well as Xray drivers Phil Chambers and Ben Ingram. Thats 6 mirage drivers in the modified A final! In Super Stock, Hot Bodies diver Tom Jefferies drove consistent all day to make it into the A final in 8th. The Stock class saw Matt Pocknell put his Hot Bodies into 6th in the A final.

The first leg of the Modified A final saw an extremely close race between Olly and Elliot, with Olly looking to pass Elliot for most of the race. A clean pass coming into the hairpin allowed Olly take the lead and the leg win, with Elliot a tenth of a second behind, both providing great racing. Ben took 5th in this leg, with Brian just behind in 6th. Phil and Stew finished 8th and 9th respectively.

The second leg was not as clean for the Modified drivers, with Olly dropping to last after being tagged in the early stages of the race. Elliot was also caught up in some racing incidents, but still put in a fast drive to finish the leg in second. Olly produced a stunning recovery drive to finish just behind Elliot in 3rd, and Brian drove consistently to finish this leg in 4th. Phil ended up 6th in the leg to improve from his starting position, with Ben and Stew taking 9th and 10th. Elliot had done enough to take the overall TQ and Modified win at this round, with Olly taking 2nd spot. Brian, Phil and Ben held 5th, 7th, and 8th respectively, and stew rounded out the top 10 for Hot Bodies.

Tom continued his consistent form throughout the day in Super Stock to improve from his qualifying position and finish in 5th, losing out on 4th only due to his qualifying position. In stock, Hot Bodies driver Matt Pocknell finished 4th overall in the meeting with a 2nd place finish in the first leg.

The overall championship standings once again showed dominance from the team at Mirage Racing. Olly Jefferies took the top spot in the Modified class for Hot Bodies, with Elliot Harper and Ben Cosgrove finishing 2nd and 3rd, producing a Mirage Racing 1-2-3! Brian Eldridge, Stew Noble and Phil Chambers also made the top ten with consistent A final performances. Cam Macdonald spent the winter adapting to the competitive modified class, and finished an impressive 11th in the standings, showing his potential for the future. Matt Pocknell was the sole mirage driver in the stock class top 10, and finished the championship in 3rd overall.
