
The RCCAOI Irish National Onroad Championships got underway over the weekend in Dublin and for Team Serpent Ireland it was a great start to the 2008 season as their drivers were fastest in both 1:10 200mm and 1:8.
The defending 1:8 Champions, it was business as usual for team leader Clive Connolly who TQ’d the event with his 960 ahead of team-mate Michael Byrne. In the half hour Final Connolly cruised to victory but it was Graeme Lougheed, making his first appear at the controls of a Serpent, who set the fastest lap of the race on his way to third to give Serpent a podium double. In the end five of the Top 6 places in the A Final were occupied by Serpent drivers.

THIS JUST IN: Former IFMAR ISTC World Champion Marc Rheinard has won the 2008 1/12th scale European Championship at the controls of a Hot Bodies Cyclone 12!
To win the overall title, Marc held off his closest rivals consisting of HB teammates Andy Moore (last year’s 1/12th scale European Champion and current IFMAR ISTC World Champion) and Ronald Volker (current European Touring Car Champion) also both driving HB Cyclone 12 cars!

In the new RC World the small brother of the legendary MR-4BX is presented. The car exists so far only as prototype. In the Yatabe arena he was to be seen during test travels. Unfortunately one was not moveable me a round. The chassis was however already very fullly on the distance and yog some fast rounds. Yokomo will probably the 4WD Offroad boom the straight in Japan prevails, further to kindle.

The LRP Masters event was held on March 28-30 and as usual was situated in the small village of Eppelheim close to Haidelberg. The LRP Masters event is known as one of the biggest carpet races in the world and every year is attended by almost all top drivers. This year, the race was attended by drivers from 16 countries, amongst which were three World Champions in this class.
