Race report by Warren Maker

This was to be Ben’s last race with the T2 007 before updating to the T2 008 so we were hoping for a good finish for old times sake. The 007 has been a great race platform for Ben to learn on. Incredibly strong and super reliable as it needed to be while Ben was learning to drive through out his first year.

We had driven at this track a few times and it is notorious for its dusty conditions and low grip so we weren’t surprised to find it damp and a little slippery. Sirio’s crankshaft bearing installer tool is made to ensure the best possible alignment of the crankshaft bearings during installation. This Sirio tool is one of the few that presses the bearing in from the outside race. Many other tools apply pressure to the inside race of the bearings, which often damages the bearings before they’re ever used. This precision tool comes with a lightweight milled aluminum handle, which can be removed for more compact storage and transportation. The front boss features a smooth one-way bearing, which means the bearings are pressed straight in – no twisting motion from the tool to misalign the bearing – It’s the best possible installation every time. Two models are available – one for big-block engines (S01010021) and one for small block engines (S01010012).
