Last week end we had the 3rd round of our National Championship at the Lisbon track, the same track that will host the World Championship.

Forty-seven drivers attend the event. The weather conditions made it very challenging for all drivers; at any time it would be dry or wet or semi-wet, thus causing a lot of problems with grip and sometimes electronic problems. The three series of heats were raced in several different track conditions, never being equal to for drivers and in the qualifying finals we had unusual classifications with top drivers.

The HongNor Championship was held at RC World Raceway in Korea. Since the Korea Nitro Off-road National Championship would be held within only two weeks, not many Team XRAY drivers could participate in this race. Team XRAY driver DongGwan Kim participated in order to test his new LRP engine as well as new XRAY XB808.

It was DongGwan’s first race at the raceway, and there was not enough time to find a setup for the circuit so DongGwan followed the factory 808 setup. Being so, it was simply amazing that DongGwan absolutely dominated the race with his XB808 from the first qualifying round to the A-main final. DongGwan took TQ position with overwhelming performance of the XB808 in the first qualifying, and everyone was astonished with the XB808’s awesome performance.

The first round of the 1:10 electric touring car Swiss Championship was held on May 3-4 in Schaffhausen, and was attended by approximately 60 drivers in the Modified class. Free practice was held on Saturday under sunny skies and 20°C temperatures. Most of the drivers had problems with understeer, so we tested many different setups and found the correct one with gave more front traction. At night we felt elated.

Qualification began on Sunday morning and it was dominated by XRAY. Ronny Lnenicka won three qualification runs and TQ’d with his XRAY T2‘008. Ronny did not run the last qualification run (he did not need to) so he saved his tires for the final run. After fourth qualification run, Mario Rigert was 2nd and Sacha Lnenicka was 5th (he suffered electronics problems).

The Just Hobby 1/10 Sedan Nitro Challenge was held on Sunday, May 11th with a total of 44 racers – and over 40% were XRAY NT1 drivers. XRAY has become the most popular car in Singapore.

All top drivers were present, making this a very competitive race. After 3 rounds of qualifying, NT1 drivers dominated… putting 7 XRAYs in the top 10 position and Top Qualifier going to XRAY driver Erwin Luhur.
