Race report by Brennan Ralls
Great weekend for the team with a debut victory for Jon.

The UK’s BRCA national Rnd 4 was held at Clanfield which is a very fast & technical dirt track, with great jumps raised section & fast sweeping corners racing is very rewarding. For the first time this year we were to have great weather all day with temps hitting 25 deg so better than the last 3 rounds where weve had rain.

With a national team that has doubled in size since the beginning of 08 to included drivers myself Brennan, Kevin Brunsden, Jon Hazelwood, Bruce Thompson, Lee Taylor, Damien Tigwell, Mark Dell & many privateers the depth in field now is very good. With 6 808’s in the top 20 & 3 in the A main the strength & pace is showing.

To racing with Mark putting in some great runs & would of been higher if not for some very impatient top guns hitting him. A very good result to qualify in the C, a cut on the start line for the final would rule him out of contention but a sterling drive to bring himself back in the game & back in the top 10. With worlds qualifiers & other branded factory drivers behind him really shows of Marks achievement. Damien with good clean runs would put his 808 18th overall & in the B, with the fast pace of the B would finish 7th in this.

The race was held at Dewan Mahsuri (beside the airport) on June 1st. The venue was 1/10 200mm nitro cars with .12 engines. Fuel was limited to 16-25% and a minimum weight of 1700g was enforced. There was three qualifying rounds of 5min per heat.

Team XRAY Malaysia NT1 proved their capabilities with superb qualifying (top 3) and A mains finishes of tremendously high quality driving for the top 4 positions. The event was attended by 34 drivers and 16 NT1 in the competition made XRAY the ultimate brand to conquer. We were running on concrete surface with medium-to-high traction (although it was bumpy). Teamwork was the very high. Emeel managed to grab the Top Qualifier position with a lead of 5 seconds, followed by M.Shah and Eric Ma. The team decided to run a front differential, and the NT1 really show its great performance and fine handling.

SDD team driver Oscar Cabezas was in top form at the third round of the Spanish 1:8 Onroad Nationals at Gijon over the weekend where the reigning champion took his first win of the season in all conquering fashion.

Having lead the Main Final at both Rounds 1 & 2 of the championship only to hit problems, Round 3 would see a change of luck for the super fast Spaniard. Practice for the event went really well with Oscar’s 960 ‘08 was working fantasticially. His Mega MF engines were also working really well and in controlled practice he was fastest breaking the track record several times.
