The 2008 Ontario Provincial Championships were held July 12th - 13th at Sid’s Raceway in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

Drivers from all over Ontario were in attendance as well as racers from Quebec and New York.
The tracks fast layout and changing conditions throughout the day were going to make the racing action packed!

In the 2wd Modified class, Kyosho/Team Orion driver John Summach swept the three rocket rounds of qualifying and was the only driver able to sneak in for the extra lap.

The 7-minute Triple A Main format made for some really exciting racing and close finishes!

A1 – John lead out for most of the race but a mid race crash cost him some positions and he had to settle for a 4th place finish.

A2 – John didn’t make any mistakes this time and lead convincingly from wire to wire to take the A2 win.

A3 – It came down to the final A Main with 5 drivers still mathematically in the running for the overall win. John was out front for the first 10 laps when a bobble bumped him back to second. John managed to reel the leader back in and pass him. Then with about 4 laps left another bobble put John back into second. John managed to stay composed and a last lap crash by the leader let John make the pass and take the A3 win and with that, the 2wd Open Provincial Championship Title!
