Numan Wins Team Orion Invitational at California
Posted by rceasy in Racing News, Team Orion, tags: Team OrionThis past weekend Bending Corners Raceway in Orange County, California held the Team Orion Invitational. This race would use the Reedy Race type heads up format for the Invite drivers. The track was open all day on Saturday for practice with racing on Sunday. Factory drivers from Tamiya, Associated, Hot Bodies, and X-Ray were all in attendance to compete in the Invitational Class.
The race format used the drivers 4 best points out of the 5 rounds of racing allowing 1 round to be thrown out.
Team Orion Factory Driver Josh Numan looked very fast in practice on Saturday laying down very impressive lap times. This was also the first time Josh would run Li-Po power in his TC!

On Sunday morning the races were set to get underway at 10:00am. Unfortunately with light rain showers in the morning, the start was delayed until 12:00pm. Track owner Raffell and many racers did an awesome job drying out the track to get it ready for racing.
After all 5 rounds of racing were complete, it was Team Orion’s Josh Numan that took home the championship with 3 wins and 1 second place finish for a total of 5 points. Josh also set the fastest run of the day being the only driver to make 32 laps!
