The 1st look in the Tamiya NEW TRF 415

One year and a half after its impressive victory in the IFMAR ISTC world Championship 2002 with the TRF414, Tamiya is still very active in world racing and is currently designing its next winning chassis, the TRF415. Drive train layout has been completely redesigned by placing rotating and heavy parts as low as possible in order to obtain high grip. Moreover, this configuration provides excellent weight distribution resulting in a very fast and easy to control chassis.

In the Reedy Race Asia 2003 that took place in Bangkok, Thailand, on November 15th and 16th, Surikarn Chaidejsuriya and Satoshi Maezumi used a prototype of the TRF415 (chassis may be modified before design is completed).

A newly designed drive train

• Employs a 2-belt driven drive train.
• Newly designed belt pulley for reduced power loss
• Belt tension adjusted via parts equipped with ball bearings.
• Features a 3mm thick carbon lower deck.
• Motor is placed lower thanks to a trimmed out area in the lower deck resulting in a lower center of gravity.
• Equipped with a one-piece motor mount and bulkhead for improved motor cooling.
• Modified front suspension geometry for more effective cornering.
• Front/Rear mid decks for improved rigidity.
