Extremely powerful brushless motors and high voltage LIPO batteries are revolutionizing the R/C racing industry. Cars are substantially quicker then their brushed motor equivalents and the new battery technology means the cars are run for longer at these high speeds.

Unfortunately, the downside to this new technology is the additional stress placed on the transmission of the latest touring car chassis. Only a short while ago manufacturers were trying to lighten drive train parts to improve acceleration and top speed but it appears, although successful for the brushed motors, the new brushless motors are causing premature wear and sometimes breakages.

K-Factory is always paying close attention to the industry and has developed a new set of high strength universal joints for the Team Magic E4 series of electric touring cars. The improved strength comes from the use of specially developed K-Factory ST-Steel and an increase in drive shaft thickness.

The thicker and stronger UJ combines with a lightweight aluminum wheel adapter which helps reduce the overall weight and keeps the rotating mass of the E4 transmission as low as possible.

Off-road track surfaces can change at an amazing rate. One hour it’s dusty and track grip is very low. Then the next, a small amount of rain falls, grip levels sky rocket and you’re immediately searching for ways to utilize this new found traction. Sound familiar?

Varying grip levels, especially when it’s high, can place a large amount of strain on the drive-train of any off-road buggy or truggy. One part in particular which takes a severe beating during a race, but is often over-looked, is the clutch.

K Factory - TC 2 Motor Cooling Head & Fan Set (with Thermal Pad)

One of the main aims of electric racing is to keep the temperature of your motor down. Reduced temperatures result in increased power, better performance, and longer motor life. This has become especially important with the use of brushless motors were an overheated motor can cause the speed controller to thermal and cut-out causing your car to stop in that all important A-final. The best way to keep the temperature down is with a heat sink and fan.

K Factory have released the K7102 TC 2 Motor Cooling Head & Fan Set. This is very similar to K Factory’s K7101 TC Motor Cooling Head . But it has four small screw holes in it . The addition of these screw holes allows you to install one or even two fans on top of the heat sink to blow cold air directly down onto your motor.
