Novak’s Smart Boost 1-Cell Li-Po Step-Up Module allows nearly any brushless or brushed speed control, receiver and servo to run on 1-cell Li-Po. This new technology expands racing opportunities for many drivers by reducing racing expenses and giving drivers the chance to race on smaller tracks.
The Smart Boost increases the 1-cell Li-Po battery pack’s voltage from 3.3V – 4.2V to 6V, ensuring that the receiver and servo receive a full 6V/3A power throughout the duration of a run. This allows the electronics to operate at their optimum levels. Additionally, the Smart Boost gives you the ability to run a 1-cell Li-Po cell with the same ESC, servo and receiver that you would normally run with any 2-3S Li-Po or 4-7 cell NiMH battery pack, including all of Novak’s brushed or brushless speed controls.

Novak’s Mongoose Crawler Micro Brushless System – 18.5T (#3055) is the first micro sensor-based system specifically designed for 1/18-scale crawler vehicles. The fully-programmable Mongoose Crawler System includes all of the features found in the Goat System, such as instant throttle response, super low-speed driveability and explosive torque, but also includes the ability to run on two or three-cell Li-Po batteries, which the speed control automatically detects through Novak’s auto detect software. Though the micro-sized system packs a lot of power, it fits perfectly in Losi’s® Mini Rock Crawler™, giving users the edge in crawling competitions.

Novak’s powerful Havoc 3S Brushless/Brush ESC (#1733) is based on the Havoc Sport ESC, which is available with the Havoc Sport Sensored Brushless System (#3038) and Havoc Spec Brushless Systems (#3033 – #3036). With input from the top drifters of the world, Novak has developed the specially designed SLYDR Brushless Drift System (#3066-3068). This system includes the new SLYDR Brushless Drift ESC (#1712) factory-wired to one of three, new Novak Drift-Spec Brushless Motors (#3466-3468). These 540-size sensored brushless motors include the Novak 13mm Neodymium Sintered rotor for improved initial throttle response and natural drag brake. The SLYDR Drift ESC, which is based on Novak’s GTB, contains new brake adjustments and features to help fine tune brake response, as well as all new throttle curve adjustments to further customize the already-smooth throttle response.
SLYDR BRUSHLESS DRIFT SYSTEM WINDS
Novak’s SLYDR Brushless Drift Systems are available in three motor winds:
- SLYDR Brushless Drift System – 6.5T (Kv=5,700; Watts=370) provides the most power to light your tires up and excels on large tracks (#3066).
- SLYDR Brushless Drift System – 7.5T (Kv=5,200; Watts=340) is the best all-around-motor with a great balance between power and run time. It also works well on medium-sized tracks (#3067).
- SLYDR Brushless Drift System – 8.5T (Kv=4,500; Watts=280) has the smoothest power response and longest possible run time. The 8.5T is also ideal to use on small tracks (#3068).

Novak has reinvented the HV Pro High-Voltage Brushless ESCs yet again since it was released in 2006. The series now includes new programming, built-in Li-Po Cut-Off Circuitry and a design makeover. The two versions of the Data Logger — the Sentry Data Logger (#2000) and the Sentry Data Logger-Pro (#2010) — both include multiple sensors that record data from multiple parts of your R/C car. The Sentry Pro includes four extra Digital Sensors and Expander Board, and Current Sensor.

- HV4.5 High-Voltage Brushless Motor with 5mm Shaft is best used for short, high-speed runs (#3524).
- HV5.5 High-Voltage Brushless Motor with 5mm Shaft has superb control, and excels in racing and bashing applications (#3525).
- HV6.5 High-Voltage Brushless Motor with 5mm Shaft is the best all-around-motor with a great balance between power and run time. It also shines in racing and bashing applications (#3526).

For increased durability, Novak is offering an HV Brushless Motor 5mm Upgrade Kit to specially equip your existing 4.5 and 6.5 HV High-Voltage Brushless Motor with a sturdy 5mm output shaft. The existing output shaft on the HV motor is the industry-standard 1/8”, but upgrading to the 5mm rotor can increase a motor’s resilience and race life. This heavy-duty upgrade kit includes a Nickel-plated, high-strength, sintered rotor featuring a 5mm output shaft to decrease the likelihood of damage to the shaft in harsh driving conditions, and a front endbell and bearing replacement that is specially designed to accommodate the larger diameter output shaft.

ROAR recently announced that 17.5-turn brushless motors have been approved for their Stock class. In addition, ROAR announced a name change for the 19T Class. It will now be known as the Super Stock Class, and will allow 10.5 and 13.5-turn brushless motors.
