The Serpent S120  has made a very strong introduction on race-tracks around the world.

The new look with the  one-piece machined rear pod, the unique central monoshock, the adjustable t-bar tweak-station with blades and the fully adjustable front end has brought a lot of innovations to 1/12.

A few area’s needed some improvement  and that has been taken care of now.
- improved T-bar design
- improved rear shaft
Now as standard in the kit 3 degree, 6 degree and 9 degree front blocks !!

In the process are now more flexible body-posts front and kingpins with allen key adjustment. Will be released as soon as ready and will then flow into kit-production too.

Serpent will release the 09 version of the successful Serpent 960 platform in February 2009.

Michael Salven has developed a number of new idea’s over 2008 and discussed the performance of the current 08 version with Serpent drivers and Team drivers. Feedback of the drivers is used to take the 960 platform to its next level of development.  It was clear that the Serpent drivers are really happy with the current 08 version already, as results also show clearly.  So just wait and see how Michael Salven takes the 960 to an even higher level of engineering and performance.

The new design is concentrated on the rear end of the car to make it both stiffer , easier to assemble and maintain and feature new easy ways to change set-up. Special attention has been given to the alignment of the 2-speed and rear shaft, to ensure a very free drivetrain, especially under power. Lots of attention to detail and beautifull design all aimed to improve handling and sheer performance: faster, easier ;)

Massimo’s prepared S120; ready for action
Many Italian hotshots from 1/8 and 1/10 scale gas-racing, dive into the indoor-halls for some 1/12 scale electric car racing.

Its all about reflexes and concentration. Good practise for the 2009 1/8 worlds and the 1/10 euro’s ???

As the gas-racers are used to having a front bumper, Massimo mounted this Serpent 710 rear shocktower to double up as a front bumper.

Aluminium radio plate support for the Serpent 960, together with a 50g brass weight and fasteners.

Serpent is pleased to announce the release of this aluminium radio plate support with brass weight. Similar in structure to the previous aluminium bracket, this version has been modified to accept the brass weight and will come as standard in future 960-08 kits.

Serpent 960-08 3.5mm thick carbon fibre rear shock tower.

Serpent is pleased to announce the release of this new shock tower for the rear of the Serpent 960. Made from 3.5mm thick carbon fibre, the new shock tower features a 2nd, higher mounting hole for the centring pin. This hole allows for the rear body mount to be set at its highest setting, while still being able to be centred. Some new low body shells work best when they are raised at the rear and this new shock tower facilitates that. This part will come as standard in future 960-08 kits.

Orange anodised aluminium Serpent car stand.

Serpent is pleased to introduce this handy car stand. Suitable for most scales of on road vehicles, electric and gas, it has been made from a single piece of 2mm thick orange anodised aluminium. Sporting the Serpent logo laser etched into the top and sides, the feet and top platform feature foam pads for helping to prevent your car and stand from moving around your workbench. A nice additional feature is the inclusion of 4 holes in the top surface for sitting your shock absorbers into when refilling them.

New for the Serpent S400 are these anodised aluminium CVD drive shafts. Super lightweight, they are 3 grams lighter than the steel versions, giving a saving of 12 grams when used throughout the car. This weight gain means reduced rotating mass, which translates into faster acceleration and top speeds. Sold in a set of 2, they are suitable for the front and rear of the car, but due to the current power being delivered by modern electronic equipment it is advised to use them only the rear, as when used on the front they may wear quicker than the standard steel versions.
