This year, 120 of Korea’s top racers participated in the race, becoming the race with the largest amount of buggy racers. Although the XB808 was only released very recently, it was one of the most popular & famous buggies in the race.
Needless to say, Team XRAY, the Korea National Champion team, was the strongest team. This time, Team XRAY was represented by ChoongYeul (current Korea National Champion), DongKwan, DongWoo (last year’s MORSE Champion), and WonHyung.
It was XRAY XB808 driver DongWoo who was showcasing with overwhelming performance of the XB808, taking 2nd spot in qualifying without any practice runs. Other XRAY drivers also showcased the whole race with their XB808 cars. ChoongYeul’s XB808 was doing some of the fastest laps in the race.

Race report by Paul Lemieux
The US nationals were held at RC Hobbies in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Quinton (owner) did a great job to accommodate the racers with a great track, fully-stocked hobby shop, proper rest rooms, large tent with electricity, large pit spots, the list goes on. The track was a very good size - not too big but not too small - and the grip was very good all weekend. The layout was fast yet tight with some high speed dog legs, 180° hairpins, and a carousel coming onto the main straight.

Race report by Concialdi Basile
Round 4 of the French Championship was held on June 13-15 in the city of Besancon. The 80 drivers (spread amongst National and Elite classes) suffered through cloudy, rainy weather on Sunday during finals. The track was a 1/10 IC track: very technical, small straights with a parabolic turn, and good adhesion with average tire wear.
Qualification - National:
Among four, qualifications took place on dry track and it was Maxime Favrelle who seized the pole position again with a best of 17 laps @ 5:05.12, follow Roman Jaureguy, Anthony Bruyer and Stéphane Raquin who had his best performance in French Championship. The NT1 was the most representative in the championship.
Qualification - Elite:
Basile Concialdi seized the pole position with a small lead on Arnaud Chaussard, followed by Thomas Eytard (three XRAY NT1 cars). Mickaël Pontal was the last one to qualify directly into the final.

Race report by Manuel Singer
Austrian Championships: Second Race & Victory for Manuel Singer
Saturday:
On Saturday afternoon we were at the race track early as the afternoon forecast called for rain. Unfortunately the setup did not function as we had hoped, but luckily - along with the others from Team XRAY - we worked together and the situation changed quickly. Even though we had not achieved the lap times we wanted, we were happy as the car ran soundly and we had the perfect car for the finale. By evening, it was finally time to begin and we could start the first preliminary round, which, despite the rain, none of the top drivers disputed.
Sunday:
After a large breakfast, my father and I headed back to the track, looking forward to a day of racing. We were able to start the second preliminary round in dry weather, but the track lacked traction and slowed us down. In the third run, my car ran dependably well (as usual) but due to a driving mistake I made in the last lap I was only able to qualify for the fourth starting position in the finale.

On the weekend of June 14/15 it was time for the third round of the Dutch Nationals at the famous MACH track at Heemstede. On Sunday morning we had three qualification runs. The qualification runs were going very well for me and I set almost the same time in all runs. Teammate Daan Jacobs – who was again very fast – had some radio problems in the first run but got a good time in the second run… only 0.1 sec behind me. But in the third run, Pedro Rombouts (NT1) had a good and clear run and set a better time. So after the qualification runs we (Team XRAY) were happy to see that the first three spots where all NT1 cars!

After the new final production XB808 buggy testing at the US Silverstate, and upcoming World Championship track testing in Charlotte I was flying back home relaxed with good feelings. Usually my brain is hyperactive and keeps analyzing everything done… and what is next on my plan. This time, flying home on the long flight I was really relaxed. Why? Because I was satisfied with the final XB808 buggy and the work we had done, and was confident in the great performance of the NT1 – the car I was going to race at the upcoming event. Since cuccessfully finishing the work on the XB808 buggy, I could now fully concentrate on the upcoming touring car races. I was to land back in Europe on Friday and then turn around and leave Sunday for Portugal for the nitro touring car World Championship warm-up… this time to meet my touring car team and to go from “bumps and jumps” to “fast and smooth” but still with the sweet smell of nitro in the air.

Race report by Frank Andersen
The third round of the Norwegian Cup was organized by Spydeberg Motorklubb just south of Oslo. Around 30 drivers faced unstable weather forecasts which later proved to make the race an exciting event. The facilities at Spydeberg are first class and on potentially rainy days like this the indoor drivers area are much appreciated.
Qualification started off dry and all drivers got their first attempt at dry conditions before the rain started to pour. If you didn’t get a good run in your first attempt… well, too bad! Drivers making the most of the first effort were Helge Johannessen (TQ) followed by Adrian Berntsen, Tom Erik Haaversen, and Petter S?lvberg. Other drivers such Georg Ellingsen and Frank Andersen were unlucky in the single dry attempt and designated to the lower finals which obviously was risky business in the wet.
