This last weekend was the penultimate round of the UK’s national series. The venue was Remote World Model Car club or better known to most as Slough which is one of the Uk’s finest dirt tracks. As usual the weather was appalling on the run up to the event as it has been for most of the series, so the practice run yet again would be muddy . As the day progressed the track dried but become bumpy, the speed of the track would come back to give some very fast & impressive racing.
Round 1 & the track still drying, none of us getting a totally clear run but all faired well & all happy with the cars balance.
Round 2 & Jon found his pace taking TQ for this round Kevin taking a top 5 place, Bruce & Bren both getting good runs. At this stage Jon was in the top 10 , Bren sat 13th. Kevin & Bruce both needed a second good result to get a better position.
Round 3 Kevin with a very late start due to a battery failure had a clear run taking TQ for the round & placing himself 2nd on the grid. Jon also hot on his heels & a good run secured 3rd on the grid. Bruce faired well & put in another good run for a B final slot. Bren altered his car to find a bit more pace but did not settle to the balance & was unable to improve on his position so remained in the B.
Mark Dell & Reece Sawyer both showed great pace but had problems during the qualifying & unable to get in clear runs so where both in the D & C final.

Danish Championship round 5 was held in Naestved NMRC racing which did a great job getting the track ready for the event.
The final was up and I was starting from the pole position. Rune was in 3rd and Peter was 7th. I lead the first lap but a mistake on the first jump put me into last place. Peter Harder had very good speed and was very fast, and he took the lead. I made my way back up into 2nd place then I starting making mistakes. Peter was now in the lead by over 1/2 a lap. But after 27 minutes his car broke down then I retook the lead, putting about a 1 lap lead on now. In the last 5 minutes I was overtaken by Steffen Clumsee who was also very fast with a CEN/RB combination. Because I had one pit stop more than him, he was in lead by 4 seconds but then he had problems with another car within 3 laps of the finish and he lost the lead. Steffen and I were battling for the lead on the last 2 laps; on the last lap I overtook him on a jump and took the win.
Final results:
1. Martin Lissau XRAY XB808
2. Steffen Clumsee
3. Jan D. Hansen
4. Lars Alex
5. Kim Petersen
6. Michael Kart
7. Rune Grustavsen XRAY XB808
8. Thomas Mikkelsen
9. Tim Clumsee
10. Peter Harder XRAY XB808

The track was fairly smooth, level grass with a couple of wooden jumps and table tops to add some more interest. The format was a for a 5 min practice followed by 4 x 10 min qualifiers on the Saturday followed by a further 5 min practice & 4 x 10 min qualifiers and bump-up Finals on the Sunday. An ideal format to get some set-up work done.
